On Friday the Police and their dogs came to visit us. We all went out onto the field and learnt about the work and gear that the Armed Offenders wear. They are very brave looking after our community.

Two Police dogs came to the visit and they were German Shepherds. They have special training to be a Police dog.  The dogs are very clever and can track down criminals by their scent. The Police showed us how the dogs can grab hold of a criminals arm - luckily the Police had pads on their arms.We were allowed to give the dogs a pat at the end of the visit, some of us were a bit scared.

We were lucky to have lots of experts to answer our questions about the Police and know that they are Super Heroes by keeping our community safe.
Thank you very much to the Police and dogs for visiting us at Eastern Hutt School.
